Evolutionary ecologist interested in understanding the biological processes that promote speciation and extinction at shallow and deep time scales. Specifically, I study the evolution of shifts between migratory and non-migratory behavior in birds, how these events can influence the propensity of speciation and extinction and the correlated evolution of morphology and communication signals. I’m the lead researcher of SELVA’s Speciation and Migration project.
