Ernesto is an avid and talented Self-taught naturalist, dedicated to multiple research and conservation projects in Costa Rica, involving species of conservation priority. The three focal species he Works on are the Unspotted saw-whet owl (Aegolius ridgwayi), Cabanis's ground sparrow (Melozone cabanisi) and the Cerulean Warbler (Setophaga cerulea). He is also an outstanding bird guide working within Costa Rica and abroad.
