SELVA’s Crossing the Caribean Project has worked in partnership with Environment Canada and Ana Maria Gonzalez from University of Saskatchewan since 2010. This alliance aims to unite efforts in order to determine the geographic origin of migratory birds through the analysis of stable isotopes in feathers (see more information here).
We are happy to share the first publication resulting from this partnership, which is also the first publication with data from Crossing the Caribbean:
Gonzalez, A. M. K. A. Hobson, N. J. Bayly & C. Gómez. (2011). Geographic origins and timing of fall migration of the Veery in Northern Colombia. The Condor 113 (4): 860 – 868. PDF
